Meet the Photographer
Hi, I'm Mary! If you're reading this page, it probably means that we have at least one major thing in common -- our pets are not "just pets," they're true members of the family and we're absolutely crazy about them! One of my favorite things about this job is having the privilege of meeting people who are just as passionate about their pets as I am about mine.
My first foray into photographing pets was years ago when I became a volunteer at a local animal shelter. That was way back when I was still shooting film (and also with a digital camera that used a floppy disk, which I thought was the greatest thing ever, ha!!) -- and while my equipment has definitely changed since then, my enthusiasm for working with shelter pets has not. Rescue efforts will always be near and dear to my heart.
Around that same time, I also earned a degree in Art (emphasis in Photography and Graphic Design) with a minor in Zoology. That might sound like an odd combination, but since I've always been both creatively inclined and completely captivated by members of the animal kingdom, I couldn't choose one or the other -- so I studied both!
Then around 2008, I discovered how rewarding it is to work with individual families to celebrate their pets through photography, and I've been doing that ever since. Like all pet parents, I'm painfully aware of the fact that our pets simply don't have enough time with us. When they leave us, all that we're left with are photos and sweet memories of them -- I love to create both for people.
My work has also been licensed internationally, everywhere from local small businesses and magazines to companies like Chewy, Purina, PetMD, Blue Buffalo and many more.
